The cooperation of Modular with the dutch Studio Bleijh has resulted in an armature which is both clean and playful at the same time, and is therefore a lamp suitable for any architectural lover. Médard is all personality and with its adjustable lighthouse it gives you the opportunity to put everything in the spotlight. Médard loves sitting on your desk to read along, but is also real good in climbing which makes him also available in versions for track, pendant, wall and ceiling.
Both Bleijh and BMA understand the changes we see worldwide and recognize the impact they have in the office and in our working areas.
The result is a well designed chair which is visually opened up to show all technology being used in stead of hiding it behind plastics. The chair automatically adapts to the weight of the user and is therefore perfect for using on locations where multiply people share a desk.
The chair does not only meet up with all standards, it is also possible to completely disassemble and are all parts reusable.
Koen van Eig, BMA Ergonomics:
'Inspiring and constructive, is how we have experienced our cooperation. Bleijh is smoothly manoeuvering between product development and marketing. They understand the tension between these fields.'
‘LEGO for architects’, that’s what Loungescape, a soft seating programme that we designed for Ahrend, is also called. We are proud of this nickname as it illustrates that we were able to design a flexible programme that lends itself well to facilitating the modern ways of doing business.
The Loungescape programme of Ahrend has been given a GIO 2011.www.ahrend.nl
The programme with components in different widths and heights creates an endless scope of constellations; integrated facilities for electronics and data traffic also help. Every room will get its own atmosphere and identity thanks to the upholstery being available in numerous materials and colours. These images show some of the Loungescape projects: Provincie Noord-Holland, Windesheim Flevoland and the UMC St. Radboud.
Gideon van der Burg, marketing director Ahrend:
'Bleijh has not only managed to transform the shift from the traditional to the modern ways of doing business into an appealing modular system, but also into a style and form that fits perfectly with Ahrend’s design tradition.'
Xcetera is the result of collaboration between Westra Etc and Bleijh.
The programme offers three types of tables: dining tables, conference tables and desks. By choosing between en O or X legged table and a colour you can give a table its very own identity.
Working from home has become a permanent part of the modern way of doing business. But how do you avoid your living room looking like an office? Smart products can help. For example, Obscure is both a chair and storage space in one.
This carbon chair can be turned into a table in one simple movement. Because of it's two-way function it optimizes the use of space, both indoors or outdoors.
